Abstract

Poly(methylphenylsilane) has been synthesized through homogeneous reductive dechlorination of dichloromethylphenylsilane using sodium/electron-acceptor complexes in tetrahydrofuran solution at -79-degrees-C. The optimization of product molecular weights is considered through analogy to a step-growth polymerization.
