Abstract

A new technique is proposed and demonstrated for the optical generation of high power, high purity millimetre-wave signals. This technique uses a master/slave DFB arrangement in which a beat signal is generated at the required frequency, and is stabilized by subharmonic electrical injection of the slave laser.
