Abstract

The first O-17 magic-angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS-NMR) from a carbonate ion in an inorganic compound is reported. The O-17 MAS centreband of CaCO3 can be simulated with parameters C-Q = 6.97 MHz, eta approximate to 1 and an isotropic chemical shift of 204 ppm.
