Abstract

A technique for finding areas of maximum dissimilarity between the statistical models of two closely resembling classes is introduced. It is shown that this technique combines statistical and syntactic recognition techniques by extracting features from structurally distinctive regions of the models and is applicable in a variety of image classification and recognition tasks.
