Abstract
This paper considers the development of output feedback controllers for uncertain systems which are subject to time-varying delays. The existence problem is solved via a static output feedback formulation using a descriptor approach. Linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) are used to obtain the parameters of the switching function. The paper provides conditions in terms of the system structure for a stable reduced-order sliding motion to exist and a solution to the reachability problem is proposed. A numerical example from the literature illustrates the proposed method.
