Abstract

The possibility of executing applications that can access Internet through Interactive Digital TV brings the necessity of protecting some information that are sent by these applications, e.g., the credit card number. This work, developed as a part of the Brazilian Digital TV System, presents a security model for the interactive channel (channel that makes possible the Internet access) of Digital TV, considering the processing and storage constraints of the device used for this kind of TV: the Set-Top Box (STB). An implementation of this model is also presented, in the sense of showing the feasibility and reliability of the model.
